Q: What drew you to Arborwear originally?
A: My father was a lineman and forester. He also ran a small tree service business on the side for years. I've always loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and woods, so it seemed like a natural fit.
Q: How has the company changed since?
A: When I first started, we were really just getting rolling with some of the capabilities of the site. Things like employee store credits and the more advanced reporting didn't exist. Other ERP software was also used daily by Sales and Customer Service, and inventory adjustments. Day-to-day operations were sometimes cumbersome to get done. Now, with the focus on streamlining and making things more consistent, we are truly positioned to give our customers the best possible experience.
Q: What is your favorite Arborwear memory?
A: The recreational tree climbing setup at the TCIA Competition in Columbus was pretty awesome... even if my boss's daughters climbed faster and higher than I did.
Q: What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
A: My kids and the people at Arborwear, who are some of the kindest and most supportive folks I have ever met. I also truly enjoy chewing the cud with our customers when I can. Outdoor industry folks are some of the most interesting people I've ever had the chance to meet.
Q: What is your proudest moment at Arborwear?
A: I love designing things people wear, so working on the Rooted Graphic Tee and Bratfest shirts always made my day. It also gave me some pride in figuring out, at least the very basics of implementing store credits functionality on our site.
Q: What has been your favorite project so far?
A: I really enjoyed working on the updated landing pages. It gave me an opportunity to dust off my HTML/CSS skills and do some more code-based design tasks.
Q: What is the best career lesson/advice you’ve learned so far?
A: When you feel like giving up, keep going. Chances are you'll learn something new and come out the other side stronger than ever.
Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
A: In my free time I like to spend time with my kiddos outdoors, visit family, do yard work, repair vehicles (odd as that may sound), hike, and explore.
Q: If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
A: I'd like to meet the king and queen of Bhutan just for laughs. They have an interesting outlook on material wealth versus the true quality of life and focus on improving the environment for future generations. His family also seems pretty chill and down to earth, our kids could probably play or something while we chatted.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
A: I like opera and once attended one in Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, which was fun.
Q: What are 3 words to describe you?
A: Tenacious, persevering, and calm.
Hi-5 Jaden for all of your contributions over the years, we appreciate you more than you’ll ever know!
