Arborwear is a very special place, and it is the employees who make it so special. Our connections are what cultivates our family culture. That is why we are spotlighting our employees' alignment with our company vision, mission, and values. Heidi Baumgart is our Director of Marketing who has been with Arborwear for two years! She has also spearheaded our Marketing Intern Program this spring. Learn more about Heidi:

Q: What drew you to Arborwear originally?

A: I did an informational interview with a neighboring business that knew Arborwear well. He randomly mentioned that he thought I'd fit the culture and business model but they had just hired a marketing leader. I kept an eye on the company for 18 months before the role opened up.

Q: How has the company changed since?

A: We have established our people, processes, and technology and built a lot of great foundations to scale. We have also put our vision and mission and values down on paper after living them for so very long.

Q: What is your favorite Arborwear memory?

A: A favorite day was the day we onboarded our first marketing internship team of seven. We had worked hard to quickly develop the program, market it, network with colleges, receive resumes, interview, and hire. On the team's first day, every department came together to do an impressive onboarding presentation which gave our interns a sense of the company, our work, and goals.

Q: What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

A: I know that my colleagues at Arborwear care as much as I do about customer service, quality products and services, and company culture. We work on the same goals together. I can count on others and I want them to know they can count on me.

Q: What is your proudest moment at Arborwear?

A: The Hi-Five Core Values Launch was a proud moment. It was a blast to send every employee a surprise Hi-Five kit in the mail and then have everyone open it on Zoom at the same time. The Hi-Five peer-to-peer recognition program has been embraced by everyone, and I love hearing the Hi-Fives sent from one colleague to another.

Q: What has been your favorite project so far?

A: An important project I've worked on is developing employee recognition content, including a webinar that our account managers can share with customers. It's a neat mix of educating others on company culture and employee recognition best practices while sharing our amazing products and service all at the same time!

Q: What is the best career lesson/advice you’ve learned so far?

A: “If you have the opportunity to do amazing things in your life, bring someone with you.” -Simon Sinek

Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

A: I am very interested in wine and have traveled to the Napa, California region often. I love helping others plan trips to the various wineries and restaurants in that area and meeting others in the wine industry in America. Pre-COVID, my husband and I also loved hosting our friends and family whether it was for a kids' birthday or a bonfire.

Q: If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?

A: Lucille Ball. While she's known as the title actor in "I Love Lucy," her career successes included being a producer and studio executive. She helped the careers of countless others when being a female in such a public and executive leadership role was very rare.

Q: What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

A: I have owned three businesses, including a wedding and events planning company called Heidzillas.

Q: What are 3 words to describe you?

A: Honest, organized, and creative.

Hi-5 Heidi for all of your contributions over the years, we appreciate you more than you’ll ever know!
