Women's Tree Climbing Workshop
Arborwear is partnered with organizations dedicated to educating and empowering tree climbers. The Women’s Tree Climbing Workshop (WTCW) teaches women how to safely climb trees in a previously male-dominated industry.
WTCW’s mission is “to create a safe, encouraging, and empowering learning environment for women to climb trees, with an emphasis on arboriculture.” This mission statement aligns with our own values here at Arborwear.
These female climbing instructors continue to make the green industry a more educated, safe, and inclusive place. We are proud of this partnership.

Women’s Tree Climbing Workshop (WTCW)
WTCW was founded in 2009 by Melissa LeVangie Ingersoll, Bear LeVangie, and Marcy Carpenter. Since then, the expanding group of female climbing instructors trained over 1,000 women. 10% of those participants have gone to work professionally in the field of Arboriculture.
The workshops create career paths for women in the tree climbing industry and empower them to practice safety on the job, when the time comes to get to work. There are six workshops planned for 2022, happening all across the United States. Registration is now open: https://www.womenstreeclimbingworkshop.com/events
Scholarships are available for aspiring climbers limited to financial resources. Many of the scholarship donors are past recipients. WTCW has truly created a community of climbers who want to see others succeed. The tree care industry benefits greatly from the lessons learned and relationships formed during these workshops. Enrolling in these services will go a long way.
